I'm getting a feeling that we may see a Nedved-Demitra deal. And we need to shore up our PK because that was our demise last year. Messier shouldn't be on it and for that matter neither should Fleury (even though he had 7 SHG). The goal of the PK is not to score but to prevent goals. Apparently, this fuel can produce such high levels of heat that it can melt concrete, which is what apparently happened. It has also been speculated that this is why they hijacked only trans-continental flights. These flights carry the maximum amount of fuel because of their long-distance trips. They assumed that something was wrong with the first plane..they couldnt get a response, and according to a report I saw, watched it go awry for close to 30 minutes. It wasnt until the SECOND plane hit the second tower that most of the country was aware this was an act of terrorism, and not a horrid plane crash. The fourth plane is rumored to have been shot down (Western Pennsylvania) although I doubt well ever know. The one over Washington DC - what could they do?? Shoot it down?? It was hot and muggy but we were all having a ball. Also in attendance there were a few great hockey people there who I was fortunate to meet. ACE BAILEY, who died today on one of those hijacked planes, was one of them. You couldn't help but like the guy just by looking at him. What a cool character he was, and he went out of his way to be friendly to anyone who wanted to talk a little hockey with him at the reception. One of my other younger friends who was there went over to him and asked him if he had any cool stories about Gretzky. Ace gladly obliged and told him a couple....Anyway, my buddy, the one who's close to Ace, will be glad to hear that some posters mentioned Ace's and Mark Bavis's name today on the wall and how one of them pointed out that Ace had won two cups. I'll be sure to let him know that some Rangers fans were thinking of them....My buddy told me this of Ace Bailey tonight: He said that Ace Bailey would have been already dead before the plane made impact because Ace would have fought those hijackers to his death. He was that type of guy. Just want to report a bit on todays happenings. I work two blocks from the World Trade Center. I'm still in shock and horrified at what I saw today. I left the city at 5:45 pm, shortly after 7 WTC came tumbling down. Incredibly difficult to describe the scene. All of lower Manhattan looks like a war scene. I can only imagine it looking the way Beirut might look like. All Buildings around the WTC have major damage. When both buildings dropped we all through that it was coming down on top of us. Sounding like a fleet of dump drucks dropping ontop of our building. Soot, ash, concrete and metal clinging against the windows. There's about 3 inches of powdered concrete laying all of downtown. Still fires raging in Buildings around the WTC. The most horrifying scene had to be seeing the people jump from the upper floors right after the planes crashing. I had worked on the 105th floor in the WTC until 2 years ago. I worked there for ten years and still have many friends who still work on that floor and lower floors. Going Home on the SI Ferry there was a definite emptiness in the sky, a very eiry quietness. MY HEART AND PRAYERS GO OUT TO THE FAMILY MEMBERS WHO STILL TO THIS POINT HAVE RECEIVED NO INFORMATION. It all seems surreal. I keep hoping I wake up soon from this nightmare .... On the positive site there has been trememdous support from all NYers. Long lines of people donating blood.
